Terms of Use

Last updated September 24, 2026 · Version 2026-09-24

These terms are the agreement between you and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("MatchU", "we") for using the MatchU website and app. By creating an account you accept them. How we handle your personal information is described separately in our Privacy Policy.

1. Your account

  • One account per person or business. Create it in your own name (or your company's), and keep the information on it accurate and up to date. Do not impersonate anyone.
  • Keep your password and sign-in methods safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you must tell us right away at [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you think someone else has access to it.
  • Free accounts have usage limits (for example a daily number of swipes or a weekly number of contacts). Trying to work around them is not allowed.

2. Content you upload

  • You own what you post. Photos, portfolio images, bios, briefs, messages and everything else you add to MatchU remain yours.
  • You give us a licence to show it. So that the service can work, you grant MatchU a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, resize and display your content inside the service to other members, for as long as it is on your account. The licence ends when you remove the content or delete your account, except for copies that other members already received in messages.
  • You must have the rights to what you post. Only upload content you created or are allowed to use, and only images of people who agreed to appear in them. Do not post content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • We may remove content that breaks these terms.

3. Acceptable behaviour

MatchU works because both sides treat each other well. You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, discriminate against, or deceive other members;
  • send spam, mass unsolicited messages, or promotional content unrelated to a real collaboration;
  • scrape, crawl, or bulk-collect profiles or other members' information, by hand or with software;
  • impersonate a person, brand, or MatchU itself, or misrepresent who you are;
  • demand or arrange payment for MatchU collaborations outside the service, or pressure a creator or business to do so;
  • interfere with the service (probing, overloading, bypassing limits, or tampering with security);
  • use MatchU for anything illegal.

4. How the marketplace works

  • Creators show their work and businesses show what content they need. Creators express interest in businesses and businesses contact creators; messaging opens once a business contacts a creator or accepts a creator's interest.
  • MatchU pays creators. Businesses do not set, negotiate, or pay amounts to creators inside the service. No price for a collaboration is shown or agreed in-app.
  • Subscriptions are the only in-app pricing. Premium features may be offered as a subscription with the price shown before you buy. No other payment passes through MatchU.
  • No guarantee of matches. Every profile gets equal exposure, but we do not promise that any creator or business will contact you, accept you, or work with you.
  • Community events, groups and other features may be offered, changed, or withdrawn at any time.

5. Termination

You may have your account deleted at any time: write to [PRIVACY EMAIL] or, when available, use Settings, Privacy & data. This removes your account and everything attached to it as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is fraudulent or harmful to other members, or that the law requires us to close. When we can, we tell you why.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

MatchU is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent Quebec law allows, we make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will lead to any collaboration, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the conduct of other members, on or off the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the Consumer Protection Act or other laws of Quebec give you and that cannot be waived by contract.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be brought before the courts of Quebec, in the judicial district of [JUDICIAL DISTRICT], unless a law that protects you gives you the right to sue elsewhere.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms are versioned. The version and the "Last updated" date at the top change whenever the text changes. For significant changes we tell logged-in members inside the app before the new terms apply. Continuing to use MatchU after that means you accept the new terms.
